Bump, in collaboration with SEGRO and Renault Trucks, organized an exclusive webinar dedicated to the electrification of heavy goods vehicles. The event brought together industry experts to share their visions, experiences and concrete solutions for accelerating the transition to more sustainable fleets.
Electrification of heavy goods vehicles: where do we stand?
Renault Trucks ' Benoit Plassat opened the webinar with an overview of the current state of electrification of heavy goods vehicles. He highlighted the technological advances made, the electric models already available on the market and future objectives in terms of sustainable mobility.
A key point: the electrification of heavy-duty vehicles is accelerating rapidly, driven by technical innovations, stricter regulations and the growing expectations of companies to reduce carbon emissions.

Charging challenges for heavy goods vehicles
Tom Lyonnet from Bump then addressed the specific challenges of recharging electric trucks. He stressed the importance of developing appropriate charging infrastructures, taking into account power requirements, charging times and logistical constraints specific to truck fleets.
In short, the success of this transition depends on tailor-made recharging solutions, integrating high-power terminals and optimized scheduling of recharging sessions to guarantee vehicle availability.
Adapting infrastructure to accommodate electric trucks
Finally, SEGRO 's Quentin Liu detailed the changes required at logistics sites to accommodate electric trucks. This includes optimizing parking spaces, installing suitable charging stations and bringing electrical installations into compliance.
The main challenge is to anticipate the changing needs of hauliers and facilitate the integration of electric trucks into logistics flows, while guaranteeing optimum recharging conditions.
A rich exchange and promising prospects
This webinar highlighted both the challenges and the opportunities offered by the electrification of heavy goods vehicles. Exchanges between speakers and participants underlined the importance of a collaborative and adapted approach to succeed in this major transition.
